Equipment Rental Program
The San Juan Islands Conservation District is dedicated to helping San Juan County farmers and forest landowners overcome barriers & support local agriculture and healthy forests. The District currently offers a no-till seed drill and biochar kilns for rent. Check the Rental Calendar to see when equipment is available.

Rent the No-Till Seed Drill
(March-October) $10/day
SJICD has a Great Plains 606NT No-Till Seed Drill available for use by San Juan County farmers.

​Rentals are typically for 3 days: 1 day for pick up, 1 day to use it, and a third day to clean and return the drill. A non-refundable maintenance fee of $250 is due once every 5 years.​​​​
​
New users must complete and return the No-Till Drill test prior to renting. Eligibility is determined individually following a site visit with a CD planner.

Rent a Biochar Kiln
(October-May) Cost TBD
SJICD has three Ring of Fire kilns available for rent by San Juan County landowners who have attended a kiln workshop hosted by the Conservation District.​

A refundable $100 deposit is required through July 2026.
Kilns may be rented for up to 7 days at a time. ​
